Orthopedic Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment is a process where special healing growth factors are harvested from your own blood that can then be delivered damaged tissue.
PRP treatment is done in the office and takes less than 1hour to perform. On the day of your procedure, blood is obtained from the patient. This is then prepared in a centrifuge to obtain platelets and growth factors at 5-10 times the natural concentration in the body. Once complete, the platelets and growth factors are then injected into the area of damaged tissue with the use of ultrasound guidance to ensure accuracy.
